Workshop on Lighting |
Mr. Soumitro Bose, Head of Content, Digital Media (India), ESPN-STAR Sports, New Delhi, visited MBICEM on 16th-April-2009. He gave a lecture on live broadcast, programme packaging, programme production, anchoring a show. He showcased few news based programmes which helped students to understand the various terminologies of television and the T.V. production process more easily. |

Mr. Naresh Sharma Film Maker and Academician conducted a workshop at MBICEM. He taught students the basic and advance lighting techniques. He exhibited several aspects of product lighting and types of lights which gave students hands on experience. He also talked about use of diffusers, reflectors and cutters which plays pivotal role in video production. |

Mr. Sumit Seth Creative Writer, Sahara India took advertising workshop with second year students on 4th-March-2009. He taught students scripting for T.V. commercial production and production treatment for T.V. commercial. Students were made to write couple of commercials to get it more clearly. |

Mr. Rajender Chugh, Senior News Reader, All India Radio, New Delhi conducted radio workshop with second year students. He talked to students about radio news, news gathering, compilation and packaging of news programme and important guidelines for news anchoring. |

A one day workshop on how to crack MICA was organized for the 3rd year students on 8th March 2010 at 2.p.m. with the objective to guide them and prepare them to face examination and subsequent interview. |

A one day seminar on how to improve communication skills for group discussion and Personal Interview was conducted on 15th March 2010. Mr. Banarjee, from IMS explained the optimum technique to do well in both. It was a very fruitful exercise because he students not only received tips but also practiced. |
Workshop on documentary film making by Magic Lantern Foundation

National Workshop on Video/TV Production |
A workshop was conducted by the Magic Lantern Foundation on 22nd Feb 2010. The workshop was attended by students of 4th semester. Ms Gargi Sen, from MLF spoke to the students about Documentary Films and how they are different from films at large. She urged them to break away from the myths that are associated with documentary film making and to embrace the freedom of structure that documentary film making provides. Magic Lantern Foundation is a non – profit group working with media and human rights. It was established in 1989 and has been involved with production of documentary films that explores aesthetics and politics, campaigning with films on issues of social justice, culture and censorship, Media education to critically assess the dominant media and Organization of film festivals.
The workshop was an enthralling experience for the students. |
